Section 5: OPA Board Subject: COPE Golf Petition? Msg# 879172

Hi Carol,
I also appreciate your reply. With Cope and Marvin Steen backing it, it may be too late for the B of D and GM to act. If OP had a GOlf Advisory Group (which they don't anymore) many of the past mistakes might have been corrected and new ideas for matching the competition may have taken place. But at this late hour I'm not sure what can be done. I have met numerous golfers from OP that refuse to play here. I've met them at Indian River Seniors, the 19th holers and semi informal groups that for a verity of reasons don't want to play here. There are problems with professionalism, common courtesy, undue influence from the golf social club, starting times and lack of competition with near by courses. I think I'll sign off before I put my big foot in my mouth again. Thanks, Frank |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Frank, Thanks for your reply. I agree that the golf course issue is an emotional issue for many. Hopefully, as a whole the OPA will not overreact, and the golf members will understand that something has to change if our course is to remain a viable amenity. |
