There seem to be quite a few summer folks in OP this season, renters and owners alike. I can't help but wonder if renters even are aware of the YC's existence. I'm not aware of much advertising for the YC. I've said before that the YC is not in the right place, to far off the beaten path so to speak. Aside from the other problems the building looks unappetizing. I suspect its previous reputation doesn't help it much. How much attention and dollars are given to tell people about the YC? It is well known that the restaurant business can be very risky. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I agree wholeheartedly Miller. Depending on my mood at the moment, I say the Yacht Club is either the nicest looking warehouse I've ever seen or it is the best looking prison I have ever seen. Fortunately, dressing up the parking lot side will be fairly easy and relatively cheap. We all know the place should have been "classed up" by the design but apparently "curb appeal" got short shrift during the design review process. All in all I think the major functional requirements have been satisfied; second floor will accommodate large banquet events, the first floor will accommodate eating and (squeezed) drinking, etc. Service, menu appeal and food quality are driven by the staff. Those areas are the items that need a lot of polishing IMO. |
