You mentioned "means and authority." I replied that they certainly have the means. Whether they have authority or not is another issue. I'm not familiar with that aspect of the law. I do know that police in Maryland use plate readers that can read plates at high speed and provide any and all info about the vehicle and owner, even if no violation is observed. At any rate, I'm not expecting any no-parking enforcement on all OPA roads, whether via the DRs or via approved placement of no-parking signs throughout the entire community. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: OPA certainly has the means - its own police department. The OPA police department can only access the State Police/MVA vehicle registration database in support of law enforcement operations. DR violations are not law enforcement. |
