For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Ed That since the GM was present at the meetings that analyzed the presentation material and participated, if he had problems with the analysis, he had the time and place to discuss this problem. Before the vote. I fine this discussion very interesting especially considering Bob's military background. Not positive of his grade (I believe it was Senior Chief in the AF). Regardless of grade one is taught in the military that if you are in a leadership position and disagree with your commander's decision you discuss it in private. If he or she states the decision stands then you follow your orders and do not air your dislike for the Commander's decision in front of the troops. To do so undermines the Commander's authority and in cases of GO they are often asked to retire or are moved to a lessor position. Now I don't have a dog in this fight, however, I always thought Bob, when I served with him on the Board, a smart individual and one that worked hard on tasks given to him. Unless he has an ulterior motive I am surprised by his action as it could lead to his dismissal. |
