For what it's worth troopers in PA are taught if an animal jumps out in front of them they should hit the animal and NOT swerve to avoid it as in most cases that can result in a much more serious accident. People have been killed when they swerved to miss a squirrel. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Keep your position, blow the horn, maybe slow a bit in a safe and controlled manner. And if that will not prevent your hitting the animal, do what? Hit it? Slamming on the brakes for a widdle birdie is asking for an accident to happen. And if a accident does happen, it is the widdle birdie's fault. Sell that to the police and to your insurance adjuster. |
