Joe, we need to improve our community relations with the board by providing a way for the entire community to communicate our needs and desires. That is the only way we can provide them with some guidance and direction while they deliberate among themselves on the important issues that need to be addressed. I felt this step was missing particularly on the construction of our new Yacht Club. It can be as simple as including a computer scan survey, sent out as an enclosure in our membership yearly assessment bill, and returned with same. At least this would be a method to receive some direct feedback from our membership. Any feedback is better than none. Additionally, all Board members should be invited to periodic Town Hall-like meetings, along with the General Manager, so they themselves can answer direct questions from the membership, in an informal atmosphere, as to how and why they voted as they did on the issues that came before them. By fostering a better relationship between the community, members of the board, and management, we can help achieve our goals. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Board members should be tolerable to the needs of our entire community, not just those of a special minority group. How can the board differentiate without some sort of a referendum? |
