Joe,
No nonsense from me. I was just trying to stop it before it started again. I have owed property in OP for 33 years now. I also currently own 2 homes here. My assessment dollars have been paying for all the amenity for a long time and I am fine with supporting all of them. I know your not so we will have to agree to disagree. Larry |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The close the golf course crowd forgets that the course will need to be maintained if converted into a park. Certainly it will need maintenance as a park. No one is forgetting a park requires maintenance and that maintenance will be paid by all association members. A park, however, would be open to all association members to use. A very valuable open space amenity to increase property values and attract home buyers. And those of you who think goats or sheep are the answer should wake up. Why the nonsense? Our goal should be to improve the management of the course to either break even or make a profit, not to shut it down. I'm not sure how long you have lived or owned here, but I first heard the above mantra perhaps around the year 2000. The push to improve the course via studies, capital investment, cart changes, etc., began in earnest around 2004. So, after 10 years of abject failure trying to accomplish the goal you suggest, how many more decades should OPA association members expect to see millions of their assessment dollars dumped down the sewer we call a golf amenity with a membership constantly falling and now down to 130 or so? |
