The budget says the food truck will be at the YC on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. It will also be at Family Fun Night on Wednesday and that is at the YC pool.
So, the food truck will be at the YC four days a week. Largest projected sales are at the YC. Joe Joe, Why in the world would anyone want to prepare food in a truck in the parking lot when there is a lovely kitchen close to where the food will be served? The long tables that are set up on the terrace, by the water, are just perfect. People can stand in line, check out the food offerings, pay and sit down. Also if you are seated near the table, you can go back to get other things to eat when you want them. How would you get a table when you are outside in the parking lot? Why make people drag out to an hot asphalt parking lot and stand there waiting for food that can be cooked in the kitchen? The beauty of a Food Truck is that someone else is doing the work, and you have food that is special. If OP is going to cook and serve it at the YC anyway, why put it on a truck? If they wanted to do a Jewish Deli Night once a week, that would make sense because it is different from the regular cuisine that OP would cook, and provided by people who know what they are doing. Of course, they would have to produce enough customers for that type of food on a regular basis to make it worth while for the truck to come over. It just doesn't seem right to me to have food trucks at the YC. It is almost like saying "we can't offer anything really good, so buy your food off a truck." We spent a huge amount of money to build the YC, and this seems pretty tacky to me. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The truck will be used to sell food at the S&R club, Manklin pool and sports core, I would guess. Not at the YC or beach club, except maybe family fun night. Guess again. People really need to actually look at the GM's proposed budget. Then again, I suspect few care what is in it. So, the food truck will be at the YC four days a week. Largest projected sales are at the YC. The only pool (other than YC pool) where the food truck will be on any regular basis is Mumford. It will be there seven days a week at various times but sales are only expected to be half of YC food truck sales. |
