Here is what Terry initially wanted the board to vote on via email. I can only assume his motion tomorrow will be the same. Note that it states a not-to-exceed amount of $207,000. However, this is not to include the four pickleball courts that I thought Thompson said was in his bid of $207,000.

Any board member who votes for this nonsense should be run out of town on a rail.

I'm not sure what is going on but Terry's motion says it was seconded by Tom Herrick.??????

Motion to Move Forward with a Portion of the Manklin Creek Project

Motion:
The Board of Directors hereby directs the General Manager to move forward with the expansion and re surfacing of the parking lot; repair/relocation associated with the playground and community gardens, and constructing fencing as outlined in the Manklin Creek proposal presented at the regular Board Meeting on 3-24-16. With the cost for this work to be based on the bids received and not to exceed $207,000 less the cost of the proposed construction of Pickle Ball Courts which were included in the total bid but will not be built at this time.

Background: The proposal for a phase one for the Manklin Creek effort, with associated bids, was presented at the Board meeting on 3-24-16. After much discussion no action was taken on the full proposal. Discussion was held around the fact no broad action on the full Manklin Creek effort should be undertaken until details regarding ground absorption testing are determined.
After the meeting it was pointed out that the portions of the proposal still need to be done soon and the GM needed direction on those items. The community parking lot, playground repair and re-alignment, storm water mitigation and fencing are not part of the conflict over pickleball courts vs. platform courts or the remainder of the Manklin Creek project. The Board agreed to vote on these items moving forward via e-mail.
Impact: This motion enables these portions of the Manklin Creek plan to be implemented.
