Nate.. Cold windy weather does not occur that often in the Pines. Outdoor play is mostly good 8-9 months of the year
The numbers of players on 3 of the 4 indoor play times is between 25-30 as an average between those that sign up ahead of time and those that drop in. When we get over 20 players we switch to an abrievisted scoring to try to speed up the time on the court so those waiting to play hopefully do not have as long a wait. I do believe that if we had the two tennis courts that you would get those from the club to volunteer their time to paint and make the courts suitable for our use just as we have done for the temporary outside courts that we have time limits on. Sweat equity is a wonderful asset. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Neil, I understand your passion for the game, however no where do I see, hear the need quantified . How many is many people? How often does this occur. Since indoor is preferred or necessary in cold or bad or windy weather building new outdoor courts will do nothing to alleviate that problem. The whole issue has very clouded metrics. I really think if the pickle ball group should step up and show their commitment by participating in the cost of whatever is being proposed. |
