Looks like the con is working on at least one person.

There is no need to do anything. Perhaps there is a need to do some repair work on the playground, but that is about it. There is no need to move and or replace the playground structure; no need to do any work on the community gardens; etc. Fact is, neither you nor I even know what work is involved or how much it will cost, other than it cannot be more than $207,000 for a small part of what was initially to be a $250,000 all-in project.

What this motion would do is allow the GM to spend up to $207,000 doing things that are needed and a part of any project to ultimately build what the GM wants to build as a part of what a bidder wanted $750,000 to do.

This Terry motion is yet another con job. My guess is it will pass with four votes -- Jacobs, Terry, Cordwell, and Renaud. Then again, maybe one of them will surprise me and do the right thing.... throw this all back at the GM until he comes up with some realistic numbers on the entire project, or change the scope of the original project approved by the board.
