The $207,000.00 bid includes the construction of four (4) pickle ball courts.
Depends on what motion Terry brings up tomorrow. The motion I saw is for a not to exceed cost of $207,000 less the cost of four pickle ball courts. In other words, it gives the GM a free hand to spend up to $207,000 even if he doesn't build four pickleball courts. This entire fiasco is typically outrageous. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Nate: "isn't there general agreement this work is necessary" Only if you are on board to build the pickle ball and paddle tennis courts at a cost of $748,560.00. The play ground does not need to be moved. It does need long deferred maintenance. That should not be a shock to anyone who knows how things work here. In fact, the GM has been in possession of the Inspection Report by Playground Guardian for that playground for over a year and a half. All of the 18 identified defects had one thing in common. Every on noted "needs maintenance". No where in the report was it recommended that we move the existing playground. The only reason to move the play ground is to make room for the proposed pickle ball courts. The $207,000.00 bid includes the construction of four (4) pickle ball courts. I believe, and am supported by others, that the installation of any new pickle ball courts or additional parking will trigger the six figure storm water management in the near future. What happened to the $224,480.00 in power costs? Without the new pickle ball courts this work is also not necessary. Marty |
