Hi Leslie,
I don't mind paying for improvements to our amenities provided the property owners get a decent bang for their bucks ($). I think $750,000 for the proposed work seems outrageous. They only got one bid for $750K, so you rebid, simultaneously expanding the universe of companies able to bid on such a project. Why would anyone quite at one bid? I'm willing to assume more people would show an interest in court amenities if the amenities were in good condition. I assume The GM inquired as to interest before moving ahead with this project? Hopefully, the project can move ahead after more careful thought is given before moving ahead? Frank |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thank goodness someone on the board sees the value of a Racquet Sports Complex, one that could easily be a unique and premier venue. This proposed complex would not only serve our members and community but would certainly attract active adults to move to OP. If you take a look at community advertising you will see pictures of tennis players, pickleball players and golfers, no one is moving here because we have a very expensive yaught club that serves poor food. People of today, young and old are more concerned with their health and want to stay active and eat well, if OP wants to continue to thrive I believe we need to cater to these types of people. |
