Joe, I have read this thread from beginning to end. I believe your last statement is by far the best that I have read. I would only hope that this is the direction that they would go. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: And so if even a subsequent board stops further expenditures on the Master Plan, the $150,000 now approved gets us cut down trees to expand a parking lot which necessitates a storm water management plan, a vacant lot and a renovated playground. That's it !!! Bingo. But you missed some of the work. The $150,000 includes not just mitigation for a small gravel parking area, but also the mitigation and site work necessary to ultimately build eight pickleball courts. I find it truly incomprehensible that the GM would propose, and then the board pass a slightly modified version of the GM's recommendation via Terry's proposal. The board did not have the guts to actually re-confirm their commitment to the $750,000 master plan. Terry, Jacobs, Cordwell and Renaud should be ashamed of participating in such reckless disregard of their responsibilities to association members. The proper thing at this point would have been to do the maintenance on the playground equipment. I think it could be done in house at very little cost, perhaps $5000 to $10,000. Then look into what Herrick proposed as a relatively quick and inexpensive fix for courts. This board or some future board could then revisit this "master plan" in terms of cost/benefit analysis. |
