I believe we have issues at the Facilities Manager and Parks and Recreation Director level if a report was received regarding playground safety and was not acted upon by either of the people holding those positions.
They have no authority to unilaterally do as you suggest. Additionally, many OPA employees are afraid to go to the bathroom without asking permission of the GM. The report in question was in the hands of the GM. The GM decided to do nothing because his goal was to move the playground, not maintain it. I suggest you call Sonya Bounds at Recs & Parks and Jerry Aveta and ask they directly if they were responsible for not doing required maintenance. Your unsubstantiated charges again these two employees is outrageous. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Larry, I believe we have issues at the Facilities Manager and Parks and Recreation Director level if a report was received regarding playground safety and was not acted upon by either of the people holding those positions. Is the GM ultimately responsible for the actions of the Facilities Manager and Director of Parks and Recreation, of course, just as the Board of Directors is ultimately responsible for the actions of the GM. That in no way excuses our Facilities Manager and Parks and Recreation Director to act on issues directly affecting their areas of responsibility. |
