Speaking for just one "second home family", we would use the Yacht Club if it were open...and not full of mold.
While we do enjoy the restaurants in W. OC and OC, we were eating regularly at the YC and Southgate Grille before the YC was shuttered. In the summertime, eating on the YC patio was a beautiful location...even if the service was lousy. Now, I would say we eat 50% of our "going out" meals at the Southgate...then Watermans, Sunset Grill, and random stops on the strip in OC. Just ate at Fagers Island this past weekend....that probably would have been a trip to the YC if it was running. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, Well, how many normal "housing developments" are such that over 50% of the owners don't live in the place full time and treat the property as a second home? In Ocean Pines it surely is the proximity of Ocean City, a resort area. OC and w. OC is where a lot of folks spend most of their time and money when they come to spend time at their 2nd. home with their children / grandchildren thus helping to account for our business amenities losses. I can understand older folks like myself enjoying all OP has to offer but I've never heard my children /grand children or their friends when coming for a visit ask to go anywhere except the OP pools or OC. They could care less about the YC when they have so many different places to choose from in OC. or W. OC |
