![]() ![]() Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Legum & Norman Proposal Msg# 1013025

"Eliminate that convenience and get paid up front on a credit card. Let the homeowner carry the debt."
OP also sets up payment plans for ammenities and extends interest free credit to hotels, outsiders, and association members for golf. The report I read from EZ-LINK (golf) shows accounts go uncollected for months and some are never collected. How would L&N handle transactions like that? These OP business practices might have to change and maybe that is a reason the BOD does not want to consider the proposal. It seems the BOD favors OP carrying golf associated accounts interest free for association members and business while charging interest to homeowners for association dues. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I would hope that the discussion involving outsourcing would include you to get your full insight into the pros and cons of using an outside source. Frank, I hope so too. OPA finances are very complex and not necessarily as straightforward as other HOA. For example, it has been longstanding OPA policy to allow homeowners to be put on assessment payment plans which results in more accounting and delays revenue - a process that you would pass on to Legum/Norman in which that individual service would be billed at a per piece/transaction rate back to the HOA. Eliminate that convenience and get paid up front on a credit card. Let the homeowner carry the debt. Tom |
