For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I didn't realize that the Impala nameplate went all the way back to '54. I had a '50 Chevy two door. My brother and I took out the 6 and put in a Ford 8 cylinder engine. Then we put in a Buick 8 which blew the transmission so we put in a Caddy LaSalle transmission. All that power then blew out the rear end and after we replaced that the drive shaft dropped on to the ground as I shifted into first after paying the 25 cent toll coming out of the Queens MidTown tunnel. The toll taker, remarking on the loud bang said, "I think that was you". "Those were the days my friend.." |
