All of us could use a little recognition, right? Beginning Monday July 16th you now have the power to give recognition to any of your coworkers!

Introducing Pines Peer Praise or simply Praise Notes.

What are Praise Notes?

Praise Notes are simple hand printed notes that you issue to a coworker when you observe them or “catch them in the act” of doing a praiseworthy deed. Examples could be teamwork, safety, service to guests or internal customers, commitment, fiscal accountability or simply a good deed (going out of one’s way, being aware of problem and taking action). While you may not be able to write the Praise Note on the spot, the idea is to recognize the employee that you observed doing the good deed ASAP. And although you can issue a Praise Note to a coworker in your department, you are encouraged to also recognize coworkers in departments other than your own. If you observe someone in Public Works “doing the right thing”, issue a Praise Note. If someone in IT went out of their way to fix your computer issue, issue a Praise Note. Supervisors and administrative staff will have Praise Note Books that you can ask to get a blank Praise Note. You simply write the Praise Note highlighting that which you observed your coworker or “Peer” doing and give the original white copy to that employee and all other copies to the employee’s supervisor. The supervisor will keep one copy and then send one copy to General Manager Bailey and one copy will be posted on a departmental Praise Board.

Copies of all Praise Notes will be kept and eligible for drawings at the end of the year. Both the recipient of the Praise Note and the peer employee that wrote the note will be eligible for the drawings.
