Section 5: OPA Board Subject: A Legal Conundrum? Msg# 1022220

I see no evidence we need more employees and equipment to do the work.
I tend to agree. Bailey is a spender. At one time OPA borrowed a machine from the county to clean out culverts. OPA decided it had to have its own, and purchased one for perhaps $70,000. Now Bailey wants a second machine. It may be more economical and effective to contract some aspects of drainage repairs and maintainable. Absolutely! |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, After the drainage committee meeting that you and I attended I reread the DR's for the Bainbridge section. I am not an attorney nut it pretty clear that OPA..is responsible for maintaining the ditches. I look forward to reading the drainage committee report and any legal opinion on responsibility. I believe has major responsibility. I see no evidence we need more employees and equipment to do the work. It may be more economical and effective to contract some aspects of drainage repairs and maintainable. Steve Tuttle |
