Hi Mark,
I did not intend to insult you. I just wanted you to know why the covenant about trailers and camping was put in. Boise Cascade started selling lots right when Family Camping was all the rage. They did not want to spoil the appearance of Ocean Pines because those looking for property would not be interested in such a place. They offered a free campground so people would not do that. If you did not think it was a problem then why did you sign the agreement? You can live outside OP and still enjoy the amenities. Do what suits you best! Where have you lived before that did NOT have any rules? Most places have zoning code enforcement. Nancy |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: A small, new trailer parked in a driveway is not "tacky behavior", certainly less tacky than some of the old derelict boats and cars around here. My trailer is neither "aluminum" nor a "box", and takes ups far less room than the boat I had previously parked in my driveway. You want to have laws against tacky behavior ? Just who determines what is deemed "tacky"? There are no squatters anywhere to be seen. This is not a squatters issue, merely private property rights. I have not offended any neighbors . . . all of my neighbors except one were perfectly fine with my trailer in my driveway. HOA's purpose is to maintain common areas, provide for common responsibilities and support common amenities . . . NOT to determine lifestyle choices. We have county, state and federal laws for "behavior" and do not need any more red tape and bureaucratic nonsense from an HOA. You might not like it if your neighbor paints his house pink, plants bushed you don't approve of, or lives in an alternate-lifestyle relationship, but where do you come off determining what his preferences should be ? |
