As I remember, the Ford engine was burning oil (rings, valves?). That plus youthful exuberance equals a Buick 3/4 race V8 engine, then rebuilding an old Caddy LaSalle transmission and then a light truck rear end replacement as each subsequently couldn't handle the strain. The universal joint was the last straw, literally. I paid the 25!!cent toll and then CLANK.
I have even forgotten what the 3/4 race thing was all about but I know my brother, who has just finished rebuilding a Barracuda, could tell me. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Those Fords had plenty of HP from their V-8. Light weight body and pretty hefty emgine. Why the Buick engine swap?? |
