" A brief summary of the forensic accounting work performed during August 2018, is as follows:
• The WCBI detective and Jim Kern met with the Bank of Ocean City’s President/CEO
and Vice President/Bank Security Officer to obtain information regarding the handling
and processing of OPA’s deposits during July and August 2017, identified documents to
be requested which had to be subpoenaed by WCBI.
• Reviewed documents produced by Bank of Ocean City in response to subpoena,
performed detailed tracing of deposits listed on bank’s deposit log form to deposit
information in OPA’s records, identify questions based on review of bank’s documents,
evaluate bank’s processing of certain deposits and met with WCBI detective to discuss
observations and questions.
• The WCBI detective and Jim Kern had a second meeting with Bank of Ocean City’s Vice
President/Bank Security Officer, and also met with the Ocean Pines Branch Manager, to
ask questions based on our review of the documents produced, and we developed a list of
additional documents to be requested which have been subpoenaed by WCBI.
• Viewed portions of video from cameras in OPA administration building for certain dates
selected based upon timing of missing cash deposits (performed with WCBI detective at
his office).
• Obtained from Bank of Ocean City a list of all OPA accounts and compared to accounts
maintained on OPA’s books."
