Jeff,
While in Walmart the other day, I saw that they had restocked a lot of modems and routers. So i decided to stop complaining about my high mediacom bill and take some action.I picked a combo WIFI cable modem router. It is a Netgear AC1200,model C6220.It was $ 102.00.Hooking it up is plug and play, then call mediacom and give them the mac address of the new router. The only small hiccup was my laptop kept telling me i may need to visit netgears website. After clicking on the message it brought up a window where it wanted me to change the router password and enter a couple of security questions.Boom ! Off it went. With the old mediacom router I could not stream netflix in the bedroom. The new one works fine. I took the old router and turned it in at mediacom in dagsboro behind royal farms. This was after I realized i must have passed it when i got got to Dover.{maybe not that far} Anyway my new modem will pay for itself in 9 months. Happy camper so far.... Steve Payne |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I just checked my Mediacom account and I have Ultra HSI internet. (Not sure what that is. I can't find it on their website.) I'm allowed 999GB per month but never used more than 600. (2 ROKU TVs and multiple mobile devices) My bill is $64.99 plus $11.50 for the wireless modem rental and tax. Total $77.18 |
