Hughesnet, examined carefully, is a terrible source for streaming unless one has no other alternative or money is no object. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Would you still recommend switching to "streaming" for those Mediacom reliability problem areas? Where are those areas? Folks having continuous, unresolved Mediacom problems know what I'm referencing. Nancy, for example, and Linda Ohl seem worst case examples. Others may be bordering total frustration. There are no internet access alternatives to Mediacom internet at this time for realistic streaming of TV. Is there a flaw in Hughes-net?? Is there insufficient hours of viewing time from their megs or gigs restrictions?? Their $50 plan allows 20 GB and mentions 30 hrs of video streaming allowed monthly. What am I missing?? 3hrs of nightly TV viewing would then run out of hrs after 10 days?? Seems odd?? Here's Hughes site mentioning those parameters I signed up and tried virtually every service. They offer a free week. I selected on PlayStation Vue by Sony because it had all the usual cable channels plus local channels, and specifically the Hallmark Channel and Fox News. Wow. An impressive and determined project. So again thanks for sharing !! Tom |
