The coversation in the meeting was about how we would continue to work as a Board to continue the progress of the past 2 years. IMO, this kind of conversation needed to happen. It was a frank, back and forth, kind of conversation and I see no value in having that conversation in a public forum.
That is not for you or the board to decide. It is an issue of Maryland law. The HOA act states: § 11B-111. Meetings of homeowners association or its governing body Except as provided in this title, and notwithstanding anything contained in any of the documents of the homeowners association: (1) Subject to the provisions of paragraph (4) of this section, all meetings of the homeowners association, including meetings of the board of directors or other governing body of the homeowners association or a committee of the homeowners association, shall be open to all members of the homeowners association or their agents; If seven (or quorum) of board members are meeting together to discuss how the board will operate, that is a "meeting of the board of directors." It is a board meeting by definition. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe, The coversation in the meeting was about how we would continue to work as a Board to continue the progress of the past 2 years. IMO, this kind of conversation needed to happen. It was a frank, back and forth, kind of conversation and I see no value in having that conversation in a public forum. There were no policies discussed and in terms of procedures it was about how we will work cooperatively for the good of OPA. Steve |
