For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: That’s why we are doing all the improvements to the pond to help control the flow. More or less useless in any substantive rainfall. 50,000 cubic feet of water; 2 inches of rain on one acre. There are possibly hundreds of acres feeding the pond. I don't know the entire watershed area. Ask the engineer how many acres are in the drainage area flowing into the pond. Just five acres would produce 250,000 cubic feet of water in a two-inch rain. 50,000 cf increase would be gone in short order and then continued flooding below the pond. Then again, maybe my numbers are wrong. Ask the expert designing the system. If we spend $800,000 and the flooding continues, people will be looking for a scapegoat. |
