Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Bainbridge Drainage Msg# 1096483

However, has anyone read the article in the Bayside Gazette "County Tables Grant Decision on Bainbridge" about fixing one of our most important drainage problems. It seems the County decided not to accept a grant of $549,000 from DNR to fix the Bainbridge problem.
I did, a couple of times because it was a bit confusing. I do understand the Counties concern when finding out it might have to go to referendum which leads to the possibility it could be turned down by Association members. I think it was also assumed that the owner of the old Pine Shore property would donate the land because the project would actually benefit them. Apparently they surprised with a request for monies. Here is the article so others can chime in; GRANT |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Actually, I do enjoy listening to the oldies. However, has anyone read the article in the Bayside Gazette "County Tables Grant Decision on Bainbridge" about fixing one of our most important drainage problems. It seems the County decided not to accept a grant of $549,000 from DNR to fix the Bainbridge problem. Apparently additional costs might come to a vote by association members and they want to get more information on the total costs before proceeding further. Also, there's an issue with easements and property of the old Pine Shore Golf Course and more expense. It's confusing to me. I'd like to see that problem fixed sooner rather than later. Those homes have had real issues with flooding for a long time now. |
