OPA Board of Directors:

It has been brought to our attention that a special board meeting has been called for today in reference to trying to remove Director Tom Janasek from the OPA Board of Directors. If this is correct, I just checked and nothing has been advertised or announced on the OPA website, which I believe is required by Maryland law.

I'm a part of the Ocean Pines "Compound Group", which is comprised of approximately 40 residents of Ocean Pines, who all socialize together at the Yacht Club. We range in age from about 40 years old to the upper 80's. I'm writing this on my own as my own personal opinion, but feel confident that most of the Compound Group will agree with me.

Why are a couple of people who are on the OPA BOD, and possibly someone from the OPA Administration trying to remove Director Tom Janasek? He was elected to the Board by the residents of Ocean Pines, and as such, should remain a Director as long as the residents want him in office.

Tom Janasek is very responsive to the residents who elected him, and represents us well. He speaks what's on his mind, and what we want as our representative on the Board. Just because he may upset some other Board members and possibly some of the OPA Administration, should not turn into a personal vendetta to oust him. This is shameful and not the way our system is supposed to work.

The Board of Directors and Administration have made great progress and improvements during the past 2 years, which has included Director Tom Janasek. Please don't let a personal vendetta or egos get involved with something that will upset a lot of OP residents if Tom Janasek is removed from the Board.
