We are at $186 per month average for all electric home of 3,650 SF. 75 degrees in summer; seventy in winter. Heat pumps on virtually all the time all year
We have no contract to honor for 20 years, no worries about increased roof replacement costs, no worries about lower sale value, and no worries about obsolescence. I don’t see the big deal to save 15-20 a month, and it probably takes taxpayer subsidy to do that. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: December 2020: $133.57 (for November) (Still using some of the stored energy) Misleading, because I pay when the power is generated and stored. My highest bill was for July: $248.51 (More sunlight, more production.) Average about $171.15/month for a 4-Br, 3-Ba, 2-Story + Sunroom. Electric AC/Heat pump. how much $$ monthly to pay off installation costs? Installation was free. I did not purchase or lease the system. I pay per kilowatt hour at a rate currently lower than Choptank. |
