Section 25: Chit Chat Subject: Solar Power Usage Msg# 1110435

I've got trouble understanding saying the energy is "stored" in the summer. The energy needs to be sold & used when generated and can't be stored. And that's a problem for example in California when some hours of sunny days that solar generation exceeds loads and must be sold to surrounding states. Otherwise their grid becomes unstable and subject to failure.
And still wondering who paid the installation costs & how will they be reimbursed over time? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: December 2020: $133.57 (for November) (Still using some of the stored energy) Misleading, because I pay when the power is generated and stored. My highest bill was for July: $248.51 (More sunlight, more production.) Average about $171.15/month for a 4-Br, 3-Ba, 2-Story + Sunroom. Electric AC/Heat pump. how much $$ monthly to pay off installation costs? Installation was free. I did not purchase or lease the system. I pay per kilowatt hour at a rate currently lower than Choptank. |
