After seeing what you wrote above, I went back and looked at all the messages posted by Beverly. She does question labor costs for Aquatics and suggests it could be better run. She is not the only person who has questioned Aquatics labor. I have and Marty Clarke has.

I see no personal attacks toward Aquatics in her posts.

Has there been any discussion why Aquatics payroll is so high this summer? Unless they were staffing another pool it doesn't seem reasonable that the payroll would be increasing that much since raises were held to a minimum this year for full time staff, I hope that was the same for part time and seasonal employees.

Agreed-it takes a lot more than good customer service to be the General Manager. We need someone with a sound business education and background as well as a full knowledge of the ever changing HR laws since payroll is about 75% of the Association budget and non compliance can be very costly.

Having worked for Ocean Pines for 15 years in different capacities they put me through the most degrading and difficult situations I have ever experienced in my professional career. I have requested a press release from OPA exonerating the finance department, specifically the 2 of us that were targeted.

I agree with you on this! Aquatics payroll is excessive and no effort is made to run it with cost consideration in mind. I am strongly opposed to the addition of this party room. I have given up hope that OPA will make decisions with the homeowners they represent in mind.

I think golf and the pools used to make a lot of money! Unfortunately, golf in general is declining in this area. I do think John Malinowski runs it as efficiently as possible. I don’t think I can say that for the pools-There are a lot of year round salaries to run 1 pool for 8 months out of the year. It was much more profitable when it was a seasonal operation. They all were!
