Marty, stop getting tangled in the meaningless. My $1.8 million was an approximation of what the bank wanted at the time of the negotiation With OPA. The fact that later the bank reduced it to $1.2, if you are correct, has nothing to do with whether or not OPA should have bought the property. If OPA could have bought it for $1.2 million, we should have done so in a heartbeat.
As for the cost of the pipe down Beauchamp Road, my understanding it was $14 million a decade ago, not $12 million. (My apologies. The amount a decade ago was $4 million, not $14 million and the cost today was estimated to be around $8 million.) But don’t take my word for it. Ask Kerry Nelson. Call both Commissioners in OP and ask if they have info on the cost. I am providing information that can be verified if you choose to do so. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Joe: Why would we ever have paid $1,800,000 for that property? You think that paying $500,000 more then it sold to the current developer is a good plan? Maybe that’s how you get to $12,000,000 for the drainage project going down Beauchamp Road. Marty |
