Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Signs of the Times Msg# 1126524

Worcester County may not have anything to do with OPA. But they do have jurisdiction and authority to regulate the signs that are put up and punish any offenders in Ocean Pines simply because it is part of Worcester County. That is regardless of whether OPA takes any action or not. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Thanks for your comments. Worcester County sign regulations have little or nothing to do with OPA. As an HOA, OPA has much stricter sign regulatione. You will note that no signs can be put up in OPA without approval of ECC/Arc. One exception are signs related to campaign signs for public office. You are well served to not accept that OPA cannot regulate any signs other than for OPA elections. Perrone and Rogers were completely wrong in telling an association member that was the case. OPA can regulate the time public office candidate signs can be placed and when they must be removed. Currently OPA only specifies when they must be removed. It is truly unfortunate that our board tells an association member nothing can be done about signs in place for years. |
