God bless them. So many soldiers from the north paid with their blood to achieve America's breaking away from slavery into freedom. All were honorable freedom fighters. I'm sure you're proud of those heros in your family.
Even prior to the civil war victory some of the northern states had already enacted freedom legislation. And you can recall how the underground railroad was transporting escaping slaves into some free northern states. The clergy had also leading the freedom efforts, for a number of years before the Civil War. So I'd credit all those leaders and legislators who were pushing in that freedom direction, even before that bloody war. Quite a lot of commendable details in history which should not be ignored or subdued. Which is the big flaw of 1619. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: There are 46 Of my relatives in a cemetery in South Dakota that died fighting in the Civil War..They owned farms and shops. They were fighting for the freedom of all men- to end brutal slavery. This is only one cemetery in one state. I have many more relatives that died to end this brutality.. |
