I read this several days ago. There has NOT been and overwhelming response in the form of comments. There HAS NOT been name calling, a cry for ACTION/CIVIL UNREST or any negative responses to this woman's comments saving the Moderators thinking another's comment that her comments were an innocuous "BRAIN FART" to which the moderator reminded posters to adhere to a high standard of decorum and civility on his Forum..................
So................I've decided to respond by saying "Thank You" to Commissioner's Bertino and Bunting for the courage to advise their constituents of this woman's travesty. As usual Mr. Reynolds has kept his followers informed and stood up to ensure that good men are supported and encouraged to do the right thing. Hopefully we can all see these three are truly GIANTS in our community! I am truly discouraged this woman WAS NOT cut off at the microphone and dismissed from the platform during her presentation. If this is indicative of what transpires at the Ocean City Convention Center during meetings of the Maryland Municipal League and the County meetings I suggest Worcester County DOES NOT NEED the revenue obtained by having these events here in Worcester County. I cannot imagine ME not being cut off and dismissed if I had done something like this. I am TRULY disappointed that the moderator of the event and the attendees did not PROTEST her words, their meanings and her intent! Aside from all that....... I've forwarded this information to a couple of the organizations I belong to on Delmarva. One provides support to their meetings at the convention center. I'm sure the numerous retired police officers will agree to to support the organization ever again. The second organization is a 600 member club here on Delmarva and I informed our leadership of the incident at last night's club meeting. I also forwarded copies of the letter to them via e-mail. Spread the word. Her name and the family's name is Purnell........................ |
