Really can't blame Steve Tuttle at this point after this last board cycle. Seems like he chose wisely.
Tell that to all the people who voted for him. Unlike Rogers, he did not resign due to death threats. He resigned because he was disappointed in not being elected president by his fellow board members. If I recall correctly, Tuttle was supported by Parks, Janasek, and of course, Tuttle. At the time, as an association member, I was supportive of Tuttle for president. I was not happy to see him resign when he failed to become president. Tuttle's resignation resulted in the appointment of Frank Brown and a major shift in the balance of power on the board. Instead of a likely 4-3 majority or even a 3-3-1 split, Tuttle's resignation essentially created a 5-2 split or at best a 4-2-1. We can all debate how Tuttle's resignation, for better or worse, impacted all that has happened since, but the reality is his resignation had the effect of a political earthquake in OPA politics. |
