Frank, this discussion brings up the very negative aspects of that once proposed bylaws change that would have added committee service to qualifications to serve on the board.
Under the current bylaws, any board president could prevent anyone eligible to vote from serving on a committee and thus control potential board candidates. Any board majority could also do the same, even if the name was presented by the president. Can you please verify that committee service is no longer being proposed as a required qualification to run for the board? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I am aware of one situation where the committee chair refused to sign an application. In that situation the Board liaison signed the application but the Board President declined to forward it for any further consideration. Frank |
