Along with a policy, there would need to be an enforcement portion to that. However, there seems to be no code of conduct or accountability of any kind for the OP board. In my opinion, it seems we have people on a board behaving like standard HOA board members. With the size of our community and scope of responsibilities for the board, we need professionals who are able to compartmentalize and set their personal issues aside. This isn’t about gossiping about a neighbor’s garden, these are serious issues that could lead, as I said, to the people of ocean pines paying to defend yet another lawsuit brought on by the (mis)behavior of this board. “ I think we’re beyond allowing the Board to stack itself with like minded supporters with appointments. All representation should be from the voters. “With great power comes great responsibility.” — we need representation that is humbled by their role and the honor placed upon them. Not drunk with power. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I suggested a social media policy as a solution. it appears to have been shot down today. What language would you propose for a social media policy? I can think of nothing useful if there are no enforcement parameters. With enforcement, we are back for the third time with trying to enforce some sort of code of conduct on board members. Tried twice in the past and failed miserably. Trying to control social media is like trying to catch mosquitoes with a crab net. Welcome to Ocean Pines. I have lived here full-time for over 30 years. These Facebook Wars are new and seem to be having an extremely negative impact on Ocean Pines. We are experiencing some of the best financial results in OPA history. The internal board political squabbling is interesting for those of us who follow all this closely but as my friend Ron Fisher says - "Here we are. Another day in paradise." Enjoy it.
