Well, by next Thursday evening you could well see what you so desire. If so, don’t count on seeing no political power ambitions. Watching boards come and go for over 30 years, the only constant is one group of political power ambitions replaced by another.
Not long ago Doug Parks was in control. There was constant turmoil. He called fellow board member Slobodan Trendic a turd in a news article. You know Trendic. He is the person you admire for the passage of the one million spending limit. Parks tried to remove Trendic from the board. Human resource man, Nate Douty, was caught in the intrigue and fired The board Treasurer at the time resigned over her treatment. Parks is a fierce defender of Tom Janasek, the man who constantly verbally attacked GM Viola in public and, as you seem to suggest, a victim of Wheatley and possibly Horn. Ah yes. The good old days. Anyway, the point is - if your slate is elected, Parks will be back in power. Perhaps, just perhaps, it is best if neither of these two warring faction is back in power. I prefer, given the candidates running, a possible election result of a 3-3 split of the warring factions and a hopefully independent as the seventh. That said, my gut is telling me your position may well prevail. Regardless, your position or mine, our HOA will survive to face new and as yet known political turmoil. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: you are correct about rumors, thinking in hindsight. What opinion should one form from a board that ignores a judge's statements. What was the attorny's viewpoint and reasoning? Why did a board member seeking re-election not recluse himself from all votes concerning the election issue. These are just a few observations of the which I have wondered about. I joined this forum so i can learn and hopefully get some of my questions answered. When and if i can retire early next year, i will spend more time and will able to be more factual. I guess what i would like to see is a board with no politcal power ambitions. Utopia? |
