Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Election Vote Count Questioned Msg# 1171126

Sure Internet votes can be produced. The Report under discussion says 811 lot votes were cast electronically by 750 or so owners, some of whom owned multiple lots. They could also produce a list of the lot locations that voted, and how each lot voted.
I asked for a similar breakdown for paper ballots. Received a song and dance. There would likely never be a math discrepancy on internet voting. But anything is possible. Coukd a hacker cause problems. I suspect adding lots would be difficult. However, deleting lots or changing voting per lot would potentially be possible. Likely? Probably not, but how would we know. Anyway, I like paper. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I wonder if the company who does the internet voting can generate a report to identify lot votes in the same manner as paper ones. Hard to believe that they wouldn't have some method of verifying voting when there is a discrepancy in totals. At this point we really don't know if totals were off with paper or internet. |
