This was for a charity golf tournament. $50 per sign at our golf course. Past candidates (including a past Board President) placed signs with no problems for years; however, Doug not only complained about my signs and had them removed, but actually attempted to have a special meeting to remove me from the Board for this grave offense. The signs went down but the donation remained.
I may not be aware of all the details. However, if this charity donation to a golf tournament allows board candidates to donate and then place campaign signs on the course, that violates the DRs.... or something. Whatever went on in the past, Parks was correct to remove such signs. That said, different treatment for different candidates is no more than hard-core personal politics at work. If Parks suggested a special meeting to try and remove you from the Board of Directors over that, it is pettiness at its worst. Of course, Parks did hold a special meeting to try and remove Slobodan Trendic from the board. That failed, so the HR guy, Douty, who had been told to investigate Trendic, was fired.
