EV's are dying a slow death. Try getting a charge in OC on summer weekends. My oldest son works for BG&E and they put a rapid charger in his garage. Others have a tough time traveling. He got a 5k tax refund when he bought it. That market that you call "politically created" >Dem and Rep both voted for it. And you are correct they will raise taxes in other ways to recover the money. | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: I seriously doubt electric vehicles impacted road funds to the extent of the current problem. Looks like the state created the problem with a budget that projected a fair increase in gas sales and their prediction was wrong. That will not stop some from blaming everything on electric cars for mostly political reasons. As electric car use increases the state does need to provide legislation to recover gas tax revenue lost to electric vehicles via some other means of taxing unrelated to gas sales. |
