After going back and looking at the February meeting I see that I was mistaken. I thought that was where it was said. As it turns out it wasn’t at the February meeting that Mr Farr discussed the practice of Matt Ortt comping drinks to director. It was actually in the Ocean Pines Progress. February 2024 page 22. Look at the fifth paragraph. The article is titled FARR REBUFFS ATTEMPT TO PLACE REVISED B-8 ON BOARD AGENDA. Here is the paragraph word for word: Farr said the amended B-8 includes some language that would have the effect of banning the Matt Ortt companies from comping directors free drinks at the Yacht Club or other MOC-managed venues, which he said might occur from time to time but isn’t a wide spread practice. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: If you think back to a meeting where board member Steve Jacobs was trying to get the board to sign on to a code of ethics you might recall Rick Farr stating that he didn’t want to have to worry about violating some code of ethics when Matt Ortt comped his drinks on occasion. George, I can find no verification of Rick Farr saying what you claimed he said above. Unless you can provide some reference to support your statement, you owe Farr a public apology. Please avoid making unsupported accusations on this forum about anyone. This is not debatable. I apologize in advance if you indeed provide some proof Farr said what you claimed he said. Until then, it seems you made it up based on prior bias. |
