Section 5: OPA Board Subject: Fair Housing Act Violation? Msg# 1214904

Hi Linda.
Any chance you can answer the followling asked by Ken Korokonay? This is specific to the announced wine sipping event at the Community Center that only allows 18+ individuals to attend. This event looks to be in clear violation of IRS non-profit status. Someone called Recs & Parks, asked if they could bring along a relative under 18 and was told NO! Why is OPA still advertising this event? |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: Has OPA hosted alcohol events at the Community Center before? To my knowledge, OPA has three liquor licenses. One for the Yacht Club which includes the Yacht Club pool, one for the Beach Club which includes the Beach Club pool and one for the Golf Country Club which includes the liquor cart that serves golfers while on the course. Maybe these licenses are usable on any OPA property, in which case why have three? |
