Just some points of clarification of the time line before this conversation is dropped:

The committee first submitted the proposal about a year ago and did present it as an adult event. We were told that we could not have an adult only event due to legal concerns over age discrimination. The committee then changed the proposal and clearly stated that this would be an event geared to adults but is open to all who would like to attend., and resubmitted earlier this year. Unfortunately, although the proposal was rewritten, the Board was under the impression that the committee was again requesting an adults only event, at the Board meeting where it was discussed, it was stated that this was an adults only event, and the liaison did not correct the misconception. Because  of this misunderstanding  the committee requested that the Board again review the proposAl and the Board opted to have council weigh in on it. Once the committee was notified that there was not a desire to offer this event, the proposal was dropped. 

There was no intent to insult the Board and the “rambling on” as you put it, was the committee’s request for clarification.
