Improvements are not all that important. Home values in OP have increased, improvements or not . The assessment is based on value.
Would you sell your home for its assessed value? Those who have OP property as permanent residence get tge homestead exemption That would be about 50% of owners. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: The Sun has an article on this today. I put new siding, front door and front deck on my OP house and the assessment increase is double what the job cost. Nobody has commented so I suppose you all get a homesteader's exemption. |
