| While I am willing to give the new operator the benefit of the doubt, OPA owes Matt Ortt a huge debt of gratitude for restoring the viability of the yacht club. Matt took a personal interest and involvement in the yacht club operations among his many other restaurants. I hope the new operator can match the consistency and level of entertainment offerings. I also think the Ortt Co did a better job than most with staffing levels and service. When is the change over effective?? | ||||||

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: It's Touch of Italy! commentary by Joe Reynolds, OceanPinesForum.com The Ocean Pines Board of Directors today voted unanimously to contract with Touch of Italy to manage food and beverage services for the Ocean Pines Association. This was perhaps a surprise to many, as the speculation was that Sodel was the selected contractor, a notion promoted by a front page story in the Ocean Pines Progress based on what was supposed to be a reliable source of "someone who knows someone." The contract term is five years and covers all OPA food and beverage operations at the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Golf Clubhouse. Unlike the prior management contract, this will be a lease arrangement. OceanPinesForum.com will be seeking a copy of the contract and follow up soon with more detailed commentary and analysis. |
