Spare us the "fixed income" line. a 52% increase in the rate is not worth it when there are free and low-cost courts nearby with many players already moved over to them. Well, if MANY of the former OPA players have already moved and you want to play with them, then you have no option but to follow them. Time will tell - AFTER the new rates are actually in effect. I suspect income will increase - contrary to all the doomsday scenarios feared by pickleballers. |

For reference, the above message is a reply to a message where: hmmm, interesting you think it's moaning, i think it's being responsible. i have limited resources and have to make decisions every day on what is worth spending on. many of us are on fixed incomes, wish i could afford everything i want but fact is i can't. a 52% increase in the rate is not worth it when there are free and low-cost courts nearby with many players already moved over to them. for the cost savings, and the ability to play on other good courts with many players, it's worth the extra effort of driving a little further. my hope is OP will do the right thing, and offer a 1 sport option at a reasonable rate, and a good option for drop-in players. and i'm grateful to every person who showed up at the meeting to let the board know this is not ok. |
It is meaningless unless one also states the AMOUNT of that yearly fixed income.
