You have a responsibly to be non bias in your reporting. To  print the all the facts and not just the ones that fit a particular agenda. Did you print the facts regarding the real construction costs per referendum's prospectus? Or did you continue to quote a  the very customized 3.9 Million number?

My responsibility is to stick to the by laws that I swore to uphold. It does not include the authority to operate  outside the by laws.

That's right ,the key words are:what was approved.  When that that was not possible because the numbers far exceeded the referendum , it was time to take an honest appraisal of the reality of the situation, review our mistakes, inform our folks. Make a solid plan based on the facts what we have learned. That is called responsible accountable behavior. The opposite is called denial.
